increased sales of surgical aortic tissue valves in the United States, primarily the
EDWARDS INTUITY Elite Valve System,
and growth in our core products; and

increased sales of surgical aortic and mitral tissue valves in Rest of World, primarily China and Europe.
|
•
|
a 1.3 percentage point decrease due to the impact of foreign currency exchange rate fluctuations, including the settlement of foreign currency hedging contracts;
|
•
|
expenses associated with the closure of our manufacturing plant in Switzerland and multiple investments in our operations, including an increase in costs to improve our manufacturing processes; and
|
•
|
the impact of converting to a consignment inventory model for surgical valves;
|
•
|
a 0.7 percentage point increase in the United States due to an improved product mix, driven by THVT products.
